Surgical Experience

After completing her general surgery residency at New York University, Dr. Beitner worked in high-volume fellowships focusing on complex and revisional bariatric surgery.


She has participated in or been the lead surgeon in over 2,000 Bariatric (weight loss) surgical procedures.


Training

After completing her general surgery residency at New York University in General Surgery, Dr. Beitner completed fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive general surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.


Her medical training and focus was on advanced surgery for:

  • Primary and revisional laparoscopic bariatric surgery, 
  • Robotic and minimally invasive general surgery and endoscopy, and
  • Upper gastrointestinal surgery, general surgery


Dr. Beitner has also completed fellowships in Australia at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and St George Hospital, Sydney.


She has been trained and worked with some of the world's best bariatric surgeons and counts the following as mentors: Drs. George Fielding, Les Nathanson, H. Leon Pachter, Feza Remzi, George Hopkins, Michael Talbot, Marina Kurian, Christine Ren-Fielding, and Daniel Herron.
