Diet Tips

Melissa Beitner • November 28, 2023

When you have bariatric surgery or an intragastric balloon with 360 SURGERY, our team will make sure you are comfortable with the nutritional guidelines we provide. Even before your procedure day, we will discuss the plan with you during the comprehensive nutritional evaluation that we do prior to surgery.

Important components that we stress include:

  • Hydration - good hydration, using non-carbonated, decaffeinated, sugar-free beverages is key.
  • Protein - one of the most important nutritional components in weight loss is protein. We always promote good quality proteins to be consumed starting right after your bariatric surgery.
  • Limiting simple sugars and fat - we will provide you with clear guidelines on what to avoid.
  • Eating whole foods - fresh fruit and vegetables will be reintroduced into your diet once you are ready and should be consumed daily once you are ready for solid foods.
  • Not skipping meals - and not snacking, are important components of your post surgery eating plan.

You'll work closely with our team of specialist bariatric dieticians throughout your weight loss journey. We are here to answer any questions along the way.
